چکیده

Recently NAano-Plasmonic, Laser Inertial Fusion Experiments (NAPLIFE) were proposed, as an improved way to achieve laser driven fusion. The improvement is the combination of two basic research discoveries: (i) possibility detonations on space-time hyper-surfaces with time-like normal (i.e. simultaneous detonation in a whole volume) and (ii) increase this volume target, by regulating light absorption using nano-shells or nano-rods antennas. These principles can be realized in-line, one dimensional configuration, simplest opposing beams particle colliders. Such, beam experiments also performed recently. Here we study consequences Wake Field Acceleration (LWFA) if experience it colliding set up. studies applied fusion, but other rapid phase transition, combustion, ignition materials.

The Plasma Wake Field Accelerator*

A new scheme of electron acceleration, employing relativistic electron bunches in a cold plasma, is analyzed. The wake field of a leading bunch is derived in a single-particle model. We then extend the model to include finite bunch length effect. In particular, we discuss the relation between the charge distributions of the driving bunch and the energies transformable to the trailing electrons....

Laser wake-field acceleration and optical guiding in a hollow plasma channel

The accelerating and focusing wake fields that can be excited by a short laser pulse in a hollow underdense plasma are examined. The evacuated channel in the plasma serves as an optical fiber to guide the laser pulse over many Rayleigh lengths. Wake fields excited by plasma current at the edge of the channel extend to the center where they may be used for ultrahigh gradient acceleration of part...

Nonlinear Optics in Relativistic Plasmas and Laser Wake Field Acceleration of Electrons

When a terawatt-peak-power laser beam is focused into a gas jet, an electron plasma wave, driven by forward Raman scattering, is observed to accelerate a naturally collimated beam of electrons to relativistic energies (up to 10(9) total electrons, with an energy distribution maximizing at 2 megaelectron volts, a transverse emittance as low as 1 millimeter-milliradian, and a field gradient of up...
